Makenna Maguire

Coach Makenna finished playing Division 1 field hockey in the 2022 fall season. She played 4 years at the University of Iowa from 2018-2022 where she appeared in 59 games and scored 3 goals and had 2 assists. During her time at Iowa she won 1 Big Ten tournament championship and two Big Ten regular season championships. Iowa also reached the NCAA Tournament all four years, with 2 Elite 8 appearances and 1 Final Four appearance. After graduating in May 2022 with a Computer Science and Engineering degree, Makenna transferred to Villanova for her last year of eligibility. As a graduate transfer appeared in all 17 games with 17 starts for the Wildcats, playing midfield. She scored 4 goals and had 5 assists for 13 points in the 2022 season. Villanova finished with a 11-6 record and placed 5th in the Big East. Makenna is graduating in May 2023 with her Masters in Finance.
Makenna is originally from Rumson, NJ. Makenna went to Rumson Fair Haven Regional High School in NJ where she was a three time all conference and two time all state selection. She had 50 goals and 55 assists in her high school career. She was a four time Shore Conference champion and two time Group 2 state champion. She served as team captain in her junior and senior year. Also was a 4 year varsity basketball and lacrosse player. She played for Xcalibur club for 5 years.
 
Makenna comes from a family of collegiate field hockey players: Mom, Kathy, and Aunt Kelly played at UNC, Aunt Lori played at Northwestern, sister Madison, played at Maryland, and sister Meadow currently plays at Cornell University. Her older brother Morgan played Division 1 baseball at Old Dominion.
