Jackie Gillen

Jackie Gillen is from Middletown, Delaware, and played Division I Field Hockey at the University of Vermont from 2014-2018.  During her off days in college, she coached at local high schools, and she enjoyed helping girls develop their skills and navigate the college recruiting process. After her collegiate career at Vermont, Jackie went to Villanova Law School and graduated in 2022 with her Juris Doctor degree (JD).  Below are a few highlights from her playing career:

REDSHIRT SENIOR SEASON (2018): Captained the Catamounts in her final year and starting all 19 games – finishing her career with 74 starts in 74 games played … Recorded two goals and two assists for a career high of six points … Scored her first career game-winning-goal in overtime at UMass Lowell (10/14).

REDSHIRT JUNIOR SEASON (2017): Captained the Catamounts and started all 17 games for Vermont … Finished with two goals, scoring against Siena in her first game in nearly two years … Added another goal against Dartmouth (9/15).

JUNIOR SEASON (2016): Redshirted the season and will enter 2017 with two years of eligibility remaining … Represented UVM at the 2017 Career in Sports Forum at the NCAA Headquarters. 

SOPHOMORE SEASON (2015): Started all 20 games … Finished the season with two assists.

FRESHMAN SEASON (2014): Started all 18 games in her rookie season with the Catamounts … Registered five points on two goals and one assist … Named to the Catamount Field Hockey Classic All-Tournament Team … Made her collegiate debut in the season opener vs. Providence … Scored her first career goal against New Hampshire … Picked up a goal and an assist in Vermont’s 2-1 win over Davidson … Assisted on the game-winning goal in OT vs. Davidson.

BEFORE UVM: Comes to UVM from Middletown, Delaware and Caravel Academy.  Finished as the third-highest scorer in Delaware in 2013.  Named a team captain in her final season at Caravel. Selected as an all-state performer in 2012 and 2013.
