PHILAFH Student Athlete of the WEEK: Kate Dinsmore

Kate Dinsmore, a sophomore at Great Valley High School, thrives in her curriculum comprised of all Honors, AP, and accelerated classes. With 4.17 GPA, Dinsmore has received distinguished (highest) honors every semester since her freshman year.

When she’s not hitting the books or anchoring Mayhem’s defense, Dinsmore spends time volunteering with the Great Valley field hockey team, her brother’s boy scout troop, and through the several clubs of which she is a member, including Cure for Cam and Alex’s Lemonade. “Dins is an all-around rockstar,” shared Mayhem Director, Alex McMahan. “She sets the standard for hard work, poise, and determination to reach her utmost potential. Her indoor team relied on her throughout the indoor season to make game-saving tackles and to thread balls with her deceptive sweeps to the high forward. You would never know this was her first year on the indoor court. Dins leads by example on and off the field and clearly employs the same intellect while playing field hockey that has allowed her to excel in a rigorous curriculum.”

The Mayhem coaches noted that they are looking forward to seeing Dinsmore lead the defense, on the Mayhem Legacy team, this spring at the U16 Regional Club Championship.
