Katherine McVeagh
Katherine serves as an assistant field hockey coach at Springfield Township High School, her alma mater, and has done so for the past two years. In 2019, Katherine helped coach the University of Scranton’s field hockey team as the graduate assistant, and the team won their first-ever Landmark Conference Championship title, and went on to host the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
During her time as a player at Scranton, Katherine was a team captain in her senior season in 2018. She also earned Landmark ZAG Field Hockey/NFHCA Division III Scholar of Distinction Award and National Academic Squad honors all four years. She was named to the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll 2016-2018 and the Landmark Conference Fall All-Sportsmanship Team in 2018. She played in 71 games, starting 57. She totaled 26 points and is in a tie for 16th all-time in career assists with 12.
Prior to Scranton, Katherine played for Springfield Township High School where the team won the Bicentennial Athletic League Championship in 2011, and was co-Champions of the Suburban One League American Conference in 2012. Katherine served as Team Captain in 2014, earned Suburban One All-League and Scholar Athlete accolades in 2013 and 2014, and was named to the National Field Hockey Academic Team in 2014. Katherine played club field hockey for Philly Hockey Club and competed in JPIL, JPOL, Festival, and the National Indoor Tournament. The team won their pool at the National Indoor Tournament in 2015.
Katherine graduated from the University of Scranton’s MBA program with an MBA specialized in Finance in May of 2020. In May of 2019, she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Strategic Communication with a minor in Business Leadership. She currently works at Barclays Bank in Wilmington, DE.
