Anna Crumb Brown

Anna Crumb Brown brings more than a decade of Division I playing, collegiate coaching, and athlete development experience to Mayhem Field Hockey. A former standout student-athlete at Syracuse University, Anna helped lead the Orange to BIG EAST Championships in 2010, 2011, and 2012, while the program consistently ranked among the top five teams in the NFHCA National Coaches Poll. Syracuse advanced to the NCAA Final Four during her career and finished her senior season as the No. 2 ranked team in the nation.

Following her playing career, Anna returned to Syracuse as a Volunteer Student Coach during the 2014 season, helping the Orange reach the NCAA National Championship game and finish as the National Runner-Up.

Anna began her collegiate coaching career at Kenyon College (2015–2019), where she helped develop three First Team All-Americans—the only three in program history—and played a key role in recruiting, player development, scouting, and program operations. She then joined James Madison University, serving as Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator from 2019–2024. During her tenure, the Dukes earned multiple CAA Regular Season Championships, achieved a No. 17 national ranking—their highest in a decade—and produced All-Americans, All-Region selections, Olympians, CAA Players of the Year, and numerous conference award winners.

Beyond the collegiate level, Anna has been an active leader within USA Field Hockey, serving as Senior Nexus South Region Director in 2022 and Nexus Region 4 Syracuse Site Director (2024–2026), where she has helped identify, mentor, and develop many of the nation’s top young athletes. She also owns and operates Mana Sports LLC, an athlete development organization dedicated to helping players build technical skill, tactical understanding, confidence, leadership, and a lifelong love for the game.

Anna holds USA Field Hockey Level II Coaching Certification and FIH Level I Coaching Certification and is passionate about creating positive, challenging environments where athletes of all ages can grow both on and off the field. Her coaching philosophy emphasizes skill development, game intelligence, confidence, and character while helping every athlete reach their full potential.
