Brianna O’Connell

Coach Brianna (“Brie”) attended Eastern Regional High School, where she was a part of their record setting field hockey team for three years. During her time on their team, Eastern won their 13th, 14th, and 15th straight state title championship, as well as recognized as the #1 team in the nation in 2011 and 2013. Brianna also traveled with Spirit of USA, winning the National Club Championship in 2012, and being recognized as the #1 club team in the nation.

Brianna continued her field hockey career at the D-III level at Gwynedd Mercy University. She was named to the Second Team All-Colonial States Athletic Conference in 2014 and 2015. In 2016 and 2017 she was named to the First Team All-Colonial States Athletic Conference. In 2017 Brianna was also named to the Second Team All-Region by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association. Brianna earned her 100th career point and was recognized as the MVP for her final CSAC Championship game in 2017 as well. Overall, Brianna finished her career as a Griffin third overall in both points and goals and first in penalty strokes attempted and made.

Brianna is currently pursuing her BSN at Gwynedd Mercy University, looking to graduate in May 2019. After graduation, she will take her boards in hopes to earn her credentials as an RN. She aspires to become a pediatric nurse, hoping to one day be a nurse at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
